Thermoguard Thermocoat S is an advanced intumescent, solvent-based paint system designed to provide up to 90 minutes of fire resistance for structural steel and cast iron. This system not only ensures the structural integrity of your building in the event of a fire but also enhances its architectural features with a compatible decorative overcoat.
Key Features & Benefits
Versatile Protection:
- Exterior Steel Protection: Designed specifically for external exposed steel that is not subject to pooling water.
- Interior Steel Protection: For interior Universal Beams, Columns, and other open section steel, use Thermocoat WI Ultimate. For interior steel hollow sections, use Thermocoat WO Ultimate.
Advanced Intumescent Technology:
- Fire Resistance: Provides up to 90 minutes of fire resistance by forming an insulating char layer up to 50 times the paint thickness when exposed to high temperatures.
- Structural Integrity: Maintains the steel below its critical temperature during a fire, ensuring the building’s structural integrity.
Application Flexibility:
- Multiple Methods: Can be applied using brush, roller, or airless spray, with spray application recommended for achieving the best finish in the shortest time.
- Certified Performance: Meets UKAS/EGOLF Fire Test Laboratory Certification to BS 476 Part 21 standards, ensuring reliable fire resistance for load-bearing elements.
Comprehensive Support:
- Technical Assistance: Contact our technical team at 0113 2455450 for detailed advice, application guidance, and certification.
- Certification: After application, a Certificate of Supply can be issued upon request for insurance, Fire and Building Control Authority, and Client Records.
