Description
Product Name: Thermocoat S Intumescent Paint for Structural Steel and Cast Iron
Key Benefits:
– Solvent-based intumescent coating compatible with various topcoats, including water-based or 2010 compliant finishes.
– Provides fire resistance for up to 90 minutes with a minimum number of coats.
– Suitable for dry internal, visible or occasional modest damp internal areas, wet or external under cover applications.
– Can be topcoated with Flame Retardant gloss, eggshell, WB satin, WB matt BS 4800 & RAL colours.
Intended Use:
– Optimized for protecting shaped steel and hollow bracing.
– Provides fire resistance to structural steel and cast iron.
How it Works:
– Heat from a fire triggers a catalytic reaction, causing the expansion of an insulating char layer up to 50 times the paint thickness.
– The char layer keeps the steel below its critical temperature, maintaining the structural integrity of the building.
Pack Sizes: Available in 20kg, 10kg, 2.5kg containers.
Coverage: Contractor should obtain basecoat application schedule from Thermoguard’s Technical Department or follow can guidance. Overspreading should be avoided to maintain compliance.
